Lorenzo Monachesi

ITALIAN INTERNATIONAL 4* EVENTER, TRAINED BY TIM AND JONELLE PRICE

“I’m a 27 year old event rider from Italy and moved to Marlborough four years ago to be with Eventing World Champions, Tim and Jonelle Price.

I own two horses here at Mere Farm. Euphorie is an eight year old mare, her stable name is Penny . Then there is Fabienne 507 who is seven, we call her Fabi. Both are fantastic mares and I have high hopes for their future. I will be expanding my string in the near future too.

We are competing all around the UK and Europe and if all goes to plan, I will be competing 4* on Penny later this season. The highlight of my career so far is producing my two mares from five year olds to 3* and 4* eventers.

I started riding with my cousin when I was 16 and then started eventing with Francesco Girarsi. So I was a relative latecomer to the sport. I love the adrenaline you get from eventing, it’s awesome. Because of this, I would say my horses and I enjoy the cross country phase the most. I have huge respect for my horses and all event horses too.
They are amazing animals to put their trust in their rider as they do.

I approached MicroPerformance because I wanted to be a part of a brand that offered great quality products for myself and my horses, so we could perform at our very best, in all conditions. My horses mean so much to me, so it’s important they get the best of everything and that is definitely supported by MP+.

Lewis Carrier

Lewis comes from a non-horsey military family and is based in Norfolk. He has owned and trained his 13-year-old Grand Prix horse Diego since a 4-year-old.

He has owned and trained his 13-year-old Grand Prix horse Diego since a 4-year-old.

Together, they have competed at the Young Rider European Championships in France in 2018 gaining a top ten place and the U25 European Championships in Hungary in 2020. The combination are currently ranked 19th in the FEI U25 Grand Prix World Rankings.

Lewis currently trains in the UK with Gareth Hughes and Nikki Barker and is part of the British Equestrian World Class Podium Potential Pathway Programme. He has previously worked for Eilberg Dressage for four and a half years before moving to work for Anna Ross at Elite Dressage.

In 2020, Lewis set up his own business in the UK, backing and training horses and competing a small string of his own and owners’ competition horses. This year, he hopes to progress at Grand Prix with Diego breaking into the senior circuit, bring his young horses on through the levels and hopes to compete at multiple CDI’s and at his third European Championship.

When we caught up with Lewis, he described his feelings for joining the MicroPerformance Team; I am incredibly excited to work with MP and their products, the professionalism and quality the products bring with technology to improve performance and training through all disciplines is paramount. My favourite product being the MicroPerformance numnah with D30 protection panels absorbing pressures for the horse when riding.

He also commented on his plans for the upcoming year, and the effects covid restrictions have on the season; “Training is going very well, and I’m keen to get the horses out as soon my as we can. We have a plan for the year for the horses but we will see how much Covid will impact it. It’s looking like for my top horse Diego the bigger shows and CDI’s are more likely to go ahead but I am not sure about the Europeans and international competition, however we are prepared to travel and compete abroad when the chance arises.”

We wish Lewis and Diego all the best for the season and keenly follow his progress but providing a edge to help his succeed.

Noor Slaoui

Young, talented and ambitious, Noor Slaoui has been representing Morocco as a 3 Day Event Rider at 3* level

“I am a Moroccan event rider based in Oxfordshire. My passion for equestrian sports began in my early childhood in Casablanca, Morocco. Aged 18, I headed to Saumur, France and spent a year studying at the Cadre Noir de Saumur where I gained a degree of International Riding Instructors.”

After that, I moved to the UK to study Politics and International relations at Warwick University. I ended up spending most of my time working with horses and soon caught the eventing bug.

“Once I graduated, I started to ride full time and worked my way up from BE90 to 3*. Thanks to the support of my Federation, Sponsors and Owners, I was able to build a strong team of horses and compete throughout Europe. I am hoping to represent my nation at the Next World Championships and Paris 2024 Olympics.”

Unlike a lot of riders I only started eventing fairly late. I had never heard of it back home and it was only during my third year studying at University, that I decided to give it a go.

Fast forward a couple of years I am now the only rider to represent Morocco in eventing at the International Level which is a great privilege and also the highlight of my career so far.

I love every aspect of it from training the horses of all ages to become successful triathletes to leaving the xc startbox full of adrenaline and excitement.

I am thrilled to be partnering with MicroPerformance, because they apply such great attention to detail, in all their products. I love the design and the quality exceeds most on the market.”

On MP+ Lite Contact gloves

“Since using the MicroPerformance gloves my reins will never slip in the rain again. They are water resistant, super grippy & light weight. They are amazing value for money! I won’t ride in any other brand of gloves again”

On MP+ Saddle Pads

“The MicroPerformance saddle pads are super light weight & sit under the saddle perfectly & don’t move while riding. They are great in hot weather due to the material of the pads. My horses form no sweat underneath their saddle anymore. Highly recommended”
